Period ending and then re starting

I know this should go in health section but posting for traffic.
I am 38 and on no birth control. My periods have got very light and short over the past two years because of peri menopause I guess.
I have also been heavily unwell this week with a bad cold and tonsillitis caught off DH. Just a bit worried as my period started Saturday and stopped by Monday. Normal for me. Today though it has re started. Has anyone else had this happen ? Just feeling a bit freaked out

For years now I have periods that start and are heavy for first 2 days, then go lighter and I stop bleeding by 4th day. Then about 8-10h I don't bleed, then I get cramping and I start bleeding again for a day.

I'm postmenopausal so don't have periods any more, but that was normal for me. I used to bleed for three days, stop for two days, then have another two days of light bleeding. That was just how it was for me, perfectly normal and until I hit perimenopause at 44 they were very regular, every 28 days.
