How inconsiderate is this

I always finish on time as my train links mean a 90 min wait if I miss the one straight After work.
My colleagues know this and all drive so don't really know what it is like to wait in the cold and dark.
Some how in my ddash to get out I left my keys hanging from my locker.
A whole bunch with a large key ring.
One colleague saw me go and doesn't have my number.Probably saw the keys though.
One colleague left after me and I'm 100 per cent sure she would ve seen them and the other woman probably knew by the other lady who is pally with her.
Arriving home to no keys is one thing so I contacted the train station who couldn't help and sent dh to look on the platform on his way home.
How bloody selfish of my colleagues to not just send a simple text.
I know it is my fault but really how inconsiderate not to let me know where they were.

I think you're overestimating just how much attention other people pay to their surroundings when they've a foot out the door...

You did the same yourself!

W0tnow · 22/11/2023 16:57

If you didn’t notice them, what makes you think your workmates would have?

I feel for you though. Bummer of an end to the day! Xx

Look at how you describe your work colleagues. They're "bloody selfish" and "inconsiderate" and they "all drive so don't really know what it is like to wait in the cold and dark."

You are fizzing with anger, but somehow - I don't think you're truly angry with them. Could be you're angry with yourself. Or are you angry with your husband, who also doesn't really know what it is like to wait in the cold and dark (I'm presuming he drives since he detoured to the train station).

This is misplaced anger. It's bloody annoying when things like this happen, but it's not your colleagues fault.

You didn't notice and it was right in front of you, you can't just assume they saw and chose not to tell you

Let it go, and check your bag before you leave work from now on

Do you not have a back up for incase you loose your keys? Are you certain the keys are in the locker?

HunterHearstHelmsley · 22/11/2023 17:06

I doubt they even noticed.

Combusting · 22/11/2023 17:09

Jesus Christ. How profoundly misplaced is your (understandable) frustration with erm winter/commute/life’s lemons.

Caggers · 22/11/2023 17:12

This is such a strange thought-process.

You’re angry at your colleagues for not noticing something that you also didn’t notice?

That’s not normal.

You must be a nightmare to work with
