10mo hostage

Very distressing to hear there is a 10mo baby among the hostages being held but hopefully being released by Hamas today. I have read about this but nowhere seems to say if his mother is also being held or not. Does anyone know? I can't stop thinking about them.

Any child being held is sad and deserves sympathy.

But at least they are alive. It does not excuse the over 4000 children that have been killed by the Israeli bombardment, not including those maimed and orphaned.

Where is your sympathy for those children?

So sick of the double standards.

Yes, he was taken hostage along with his brother, mother and father, the father being pictured with a head injury while being abducted.

Wow @Howtonamechange what a disproportionate outburst and totally unjustified. Expressing concern over one child does not preclude sympathy over others. I was asking a specific question about this one hostage.

I’m very distressed for all the babies who either died in Gaza or survived and lost their families. I can’t fathom what their future looks like.

As unsavory as it may sound, I reckon Hamas took care of the vulnerable as was reported by the woman who was released.

No not unjustified or disproportionate.
The military response is disproportionate.

Have you expressed sympathy for the other thousands of children? Or is it just because this one baby is the "right" race.

Don't try to justify your selective empathy.

@Howtonamechange you need to check yourself. You are totally out of order. This has zero to do with race. You have no idea what sympathies I have expressed. You know nothing. I asked a very specific question about the hostages being released today which is valid. Bugger off with your high horse.

If you say so...

Completely agree with this.

I’ve expressed a lot of sympathy for Gaza and the situation there. To the extent I’ve been accused of being anti Semitic (I’m not). I fully agree that the response by situation by Israel is disproportionate, needs to stop. I think it’s genocide and war crimes. However I’m also horrified over the Israeli hostage (and attacks) situation.

I hadn’t heard about a ten month old, I hope their parent(s) are with the baby. I know there’s also a 9yo girl who is being held hostage, certainly without her dad and I think without her mum. She must be so frightened.

In case you weren't aware , having sympathy for one baby/adult/religion/race doesn't mean you wish the fires of hell to rain down everyone else.
Just saying
