Please help!

I have no problems falling asleep but I often wake up around 3am and I can’t fall back to sleep. I try just lying there, I try doing something else like reading on my kindle. It means I’m literally awake for the day from that time and it’s ruining my life.

I exercise regularly (10k steps a day and run 3 times a week), take magnesium (recently sized up to 2000mg x 4 tablets a day), a daily antihistamine, use a fan so my bedroom is cool, use ear plugs, a sleep mask…I try everything.

OTC tablets have worked, but I’ve read that they increase the risk of dementia long term and as soon as I skip them for one night, bam I’m awake at 3am.

Please help! I’m 36 and not peri menopausal…

TikTok keeps showing me videos of people with high cortisol having this issue. Maybe have a look into that.

Thank you, I had a look at that and I don’t think I have the symptoms, although I do feel on edge about this whole sleep thing!
