How many is a few?

If you are talking about sweets or chocolates such as quality sweet size.

My 7 year old insists it's 3, but I have a vivid memory of being in infant class and being shouted at for taking 3 sweets because 'a few is 2!'

I'd say around 5 at the most and 3 a bit stingy.

More than 2 (that’s a couple) and less than 6 (half a dozen).

This- except that i always thought 3 was a few and anything more than that (if talking about chocolate) was 'still not quite enough'.

This is the biggest source of contention in my marriage (lighthearted!).

A couple is 2.
A few is 4 or 5.
Several is 6+.

DH is categorically WRONG to say that a few is 2. A couple is literally 2, and can't also be a few. I won't hear of it.

You are like literally correct with this though.
