College interviews

My son has some college interviews coming up. I want to help him prepare, and wondered if anyone could give advice on what is asked, how to handle the questions, anything not to say etc.

What kind of college - like sixth form or like university?

Sorry yes - a sixth form college. He's just doing his GCSEs

6th form colleges in my area (Hants) aren't doing academic checks (just the usual entry criteria based on GCSE grades). The interviews are just to make sure they understand the courses they have applied for and that these courses fit with future aspirations. (e.g. Do they know what psychology involves, are they doing Chemistry if aspiring medic).

I think this might be a rule across all state 6th forms but not certain.
