How much is a wasted call out charge for a boiler service?

Can't you do something in advance, before the engineer gets there?

Otherwise I imagine it's the cost of their time, bearing in mind that's an appointment they could have had elsewhere. £50-75 at a guess (our last service cost under £100).

How much would a full service cost?
I think it's about £80 round here.
You might just need to pay the full amount. Is there no way you can have someone at the property for the appointment?
