UK retail sudden slow down?

Anyone working in fashion/ luxury retail, have you seen a significant dip since August? I’ve noticed a drop (fashion) but also footfall is down too, yes the streets are busy in those cities with Christmas markets but not many appear to be buying.

A friend works in one of the Selfridges stores and said even they have seen a huge drop, with Christmas looming it’s nowhere near as busy as last year, the international tourists are seemingly opting for Europe instead.

I know the cost of living crisis is affecting everyone some worse than others but even those with disposable incomes or the ‘just wealthy’ are being cautious.

This is the Truss budget starting to bite mainly. Which was predicted last year to a chorus of apathy.

Not gonna get much better, no matter how many vulnerable people are mugged to pay for tax cuts.

On the plus side, removing all that money from circulation is slowing inflation.
