Tablet controls - help please

Thinking about getting our 9 year olds a tablet for chirstmas. This is the first tablet they have had.

We are apple users, but thinking of getting a samsung a8 for them.

Could anyone give mw the low down of how best to make these tablets child safe, and put on strict controls? Is there any way we can monitor usage from our iphones?

We use the Qustodio app, which from my understanding works on both Samsung and iPhone. We just have the free version but there is a paid for version on the app that offers more services.
