What's made your house feel lighter.

The piano has gone, after 16 years. It was heavy to play, impossible to tune. I can't play, DH never bothered, the kids were not interested.
It's finally gone and the house feels disproportionately 'lighter'.

There's more room to sit at the table, more room when you come through the door. It just sucked light and dust and I wish I'd never let it in.

What else can I change/get rid of, I'm on a mission.

Go through your bookcase and wardrobe. Sell or charity shop anything you haven’t worn or read in the past couple of years. With clothes put the hangers the wrong way round and turn them round when you wear them. If not worn in a year get rid.

Pretty soon there'll be MNers along to say getting shut of a useless/abusive OH has lightened the house. And their life. Smile

Books. Unless you live in a huge house with a library , if you’ve too many books everywhere it becomes cramped, cluttered and musty.

Sell the roof, that’ll lighten it.
😉😁😁

Getting a Velux in the kitchen (bungalow).

I have a piano too. It was my mum's pride and joy. No one plays it now but I haven't been able to get rid. I could have more books if it went...

I've tinkered round the edges, the books mostly fit in the book case, the clothes mostly get worn. Each category of small things needs a thousand decisions but the piano was just one decision and the payoff has been huge.

The big stuff, that's what should feel nervous....
