If it's unlikely to be from raising the tax free allowance. Where do you think it will come from?

NI or increase the 40 percent?

Nobody?

I thought I read that the tax cut was going to be an inheritance tax cut, but funded by cuts to benefits. Typically I can’t find the clip I was reading.

we need the opposite.

I agree.
The article above is about income tax.

well that’s a quick u turn! On Saturday he was saying it just wasn’t possible to cut income tax… I wonder what the line willbe later this week.

And Sunak accuses Starmer of flip flopping

@GasDrivenNun 😂

SpringIntoChaos · 20/11/2023 17:56

I have just read that it will probably come from National Insurance as Sunak wants 'workers' to benefit from the cuts.

Here...

Tax cuts?

It's really great the government is doing this. Having fixed inflation (prices are falling like crazy!) and put some gravel in that pothole down the road, tax cuts now makes perfect sense; they must have so much money they literally don't know what to do with it! What a time to be alive.

Savourycrepe · 20/11/2023 18:09

They should use the money to get rid of distortions that disincentivise work such as the child benefit and childcare cut-off. But I expect they would rather cut inheritance tax to protect the windfalls of the few.

Newtonianmechanics · 22/11/2023 14:24

Well it was 2 percent off NI.
