My second child is 8 months now and it's really making me chuckle thinking back to the things I did with my eldest!

One that springs to mind is individually picking out all the peas and sweetcorn from a risotto and snipping them in half with scissors as I was worried she might choke!

Feel free to share your pfb moments to make me feel less ridiculous Grin

Awwww bless that is dedication.

Seeing my DS face light up and have the biggest smile when I came to the Moses basket after naps. Was the best feeling in the world! And to this day DS is so sweet, cuddly and loving. He is glued to me 24/7 and although at times it can be too much I just think it won't last forever DS will be too cool for that. That makes me cry.

My heart, stomach and whole world turned over when he was brought to me and I first set eyes on him after my CS. I will remember that feeling all my life.

She was taken to SCBU immediately after birth.

When I went to see her a couple of hours later she had a canula in, and her own chart. I was astonished to find that she was her own person, separate to me, and only hours old had a life that was demonstrably separate to mine, and that I had not been a part of.

When she was first born and they placed her on my chest. She was tiny (little 34 weeker) and she just looked at me with these massive eyes...and then peed all over my stomach.

And when a couple of days later they put her under a UV lamp and she just loved it so much she was lifting her legs up to the light like she was sunbathing

I thought this was going to be about the stupid PfB stuff….

like pre cutting a banana in half before going to Nannas. I have no idea why I thought she might overdose my baby!

Goodornot · 27/11/2023 12:58

Isn't this meant to be daft things you did for pfb, like using a hair dryer to dry their bum, instead of how you felt about pfb at birth?

That's what I assumed, like that MNer who realised her baby wasn't wearing one more layer than her, so fixed that by taking her own coat off before going out. That sort of thing.

MissDollyMix · 27/11/2023 15:26

Oh dear. I was so pfb with my eldest. He's 13 now though so it's too much of a blur to remember specific examples. DC2 was dragged up in comparison.

PuttingDownRoots · 27/11/2023 15:31

This was actually DD2

Th only bread she would eat was homemade rolls. Which I told the nursery... the assistant kept a straight face while telling the other one... and then we al burst out laughing as I did sound like a pretentious twit.

With our first DC, my DP used to put wipes on the radiator to warm them up before he wiped her bum

I don't have time for that😅my DP is known for being particularly soft with both kids. I'm a 'get in, get out' person ha
