They don’t want one.

evinalina · 19/11/2023 20:55

Yes but why?

I do t know but what I would like to better understand is whether the U.K. would actually have any power to force a ceasefire even if they voted for one. I can't see why we would.

ElevenSeven · 19/11/2023 21:05

If they had, what do you think would happen?

Which government? When?

Startyabastard · 19/11/2023 21:08

What other people have said... why would they listen to us? The only thing I can think of is giving them a big incentive and that might not be necessarily a good thing.

Absolutely no power to enforce a ceasefire regardless of the vote. At most it may create some diplomatic pressure, but neither Hamas nor Israel are interested in a ceasefire.
