I don't get to watch a lot of television, mostly because of work commitments, so I'm not hugely up to date on who's in the limelight but sometimes I just see someone who I think 'oh they seem so nice!'.

My fav right now is Annabel Croft. Just a lovely classy woman.

Disclaimer: this is a completely vacuous, unimportant, lighthearted thread.

I also came on again to say Olivia Colman but see someone else has …I love her as an actress and she made a speech at an awards ceremony once where she just seemed so lovely and down to earth…doesn’t seem to crave the limelight as much as some other big stars as well. Some people have mentioned Ricky Gervais…I love his comedy, especially the office and have seen a stand up show of his, however I am not sure how ‘nice ‘ he is…he seems a bit arrogant and fame has gone to his head, in the kind of ‘I’m right your wrong’ kind of way some famous men are…iyswim. All hidden behind self deprecation and ‘comedy’

if I ever meet Claudia Winkleman the first thing I will do is knock her to the ground and cut her hair. Might slap her a few times too......yes definitely.

don't know Matt Baker but I do like Sara Cox, she sounds good fun even though I don't really like a lot of what she has on her R2 show.

This is just the sort of thing I can imagine Claudia winkleman saying abiut herself. Ha ha!

Newuser75 · 20/11/2023 10:17

@Lolalovesroses Emma Willis does seem lovely!

I’ve seen him in a restaurant local to me where you don’t have to book, with his wife. There was no space for him, he was so polite and nice about it though. We were frantically quietly trying to signal to the waitress/owner who he was and to try to make space for him somehow!

Why did you do that? He probably didn't want special treatment.

pacificoceanwhale · 20/11/2023 10:28

Bradley Walsh, Rylan & Davina McCall. All seem great.

Also Britney Spears. Although she was probably too nice for the industry. Hence how things ended up they way that they have. Lots of old clips of her online lately. She came across as so sweet and polite to everyone. Even when interviewers were being blatant ass holes toward her. No airs or graces about her despite being the biggest pop star at the time.

Tom Holland and Zendaya seem like a fun couple

I agree, love them.

Currently reading Sir Patrick Stewart's autobiography and it confirms that he really is such a warm and modest person as he seems to become over elsewhere

Annabel Croft has had a very difficult time this year and does come across as a lovely person, but I think she has some extreme views, which don’t endear me to her.

What extreme views does she have? I was unfamiliar with her and haven't seen anything come up when I google her and now I need to know!

craftykamo · 20/11/2023 11:21

I'm sure I've read somewhere that Rylan credits his career to the fact he was always nice to the runners when he first got famous - and as those runners have gone on to become producers etc, they're paying him back with lots of work. (Not that I think that was his plan, I think he's just genuinely nice)

Icouldeatatesticle · 20/11/2023 22:20

What are Annabel Crofts extreme views 😬

NCGrandParent · 20/11/2023 22:26

Rylan, Stacey Solomon, Emily Maitlis, Keanu Reeves, Andi Oliver and Neneh Cherry, Stormzy and Maya Jama

louderthan · 22/11/2023 21:11

I'll add Simon Reeve. My mum likes him because he swears 🤣
Also Jeremy Deller, Turner Prize winning artist who did the most brilliant artwork commemorating the battle of the Somme.

Also thought of another one, Monica Galetti from Masterchef. In early series she was quite fierce with the contestants and had that reputation, but I’ve watched that hotels programme with her on, and she comes across as a really strong woman, says it like it is, but also with a really kind side. I can imagine her being lovely in real life…prepared for someone who’s met her to come along and tell me I’m wrong though!
