Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

lucysmam · 19/11/2023 09:26

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, after a nice lie in. Dd2 is already up so it won't be very peaceful today, I don't think - it sounds like she's on her way down.

I have the washer on already and plan to clean the downstairs loo today. A quick job before I settle down to add faces and detail to two sets of peg dolls, so they can be varnished, and continue a second crochet alien.

There's also a third Christmas cake to be made -dd1 wants to do that though so I'll just be available to help if she needs me.

Dd2 has finished her homework but didn't really seem to want to do much when I asked her yesterday whether there was anything she fancied doing today. I'll ask again when she comes down. I want some paper chains to decorate the kitchen so maybe we'll sit and do those for an hour 🤔

Roast chicken for tea, with roast spuds, some sort of veg, and gravy 😋 I might see if either of the girls wants to bake brownies for afters.

Later on, self care Sunday - scrubby shower, shave, loads of moisturiser, maybe stick some nail stickers and then either some more crochet or, more likely, catch up on Christmas Chronicles. I still need to write the list of what wants doing for Christmas that I was asked for so maybe I should do that 🤷‍♀️

What about all of you? 🙂

I’m usually home and pottering on Sundays but am going into the West End for a concert with my daughter and having dinner with a couple we met on holiday a few months ago. DH is going out to buy an AirFryer. No comment.

Cryingmum909 · 19/11/2023 09:37

Good Morning @lucysmam I'm still in bed. Just about to go get a coffee and bring it back to bed. I need to tidy my bedroom. There are clothes everywhere.its never been like this. I've lost my way mentally the last few weeks and need to get back on track. Also need to tackle the laundry room too as it's full of junk. Some financial admin bits to sort today. Visit elderly relatives. Fix my hoover. Roast pork for dinner later.

Icequeen01 · 19/11/2023 09:39

We are away catching up with some of DH's family and have rented the most gorgeous converted farm building. Had a lovely seaside walk yesterday then a lovely dinner back at the rented accommodation. This morning a bit of a lazy morning then off to see a local landmark before lunch in a pub. Just lovely.

twistyizzy · 19/11/2023 09:41

Should be going to dog training but but hungover and spent yesterday rushing around so feel like a slower paced day today. 1st dog walk + horse already done, DD is on way out with her best friend for a few hours.
Should be dusting cobwebs but sat with dog on sofa having cuddles + coffee, she is the best cuddler and chances are I am going to fall asleep!

IHeartGeneHunt · 19/11/2023 09:46

Morning!
Going to the museum today, despite really not feeling like it, and then to feed squirrels with peanuts in the park.
It's cold and grey and I would like to go back to bed.

mondaytosunday · 19/11/2023 10:01

I've fed the cats and let the dogs out back and back in bed. Will get up and showered soon. Promised DD (still asleep) I'd make banana bread for breakfast.
Chill day then, dog walk the most active bit. Tesco arriving around noon. My DD has two practice essays to write (Cambridge assessment in about a week).
My son doesn't live with me but texted at 8am to say on the bus to meet a friend for a run. He is an energiser bunny go go go all the time - exhausting to live with! He manages his excess energy by going to the gym before and after work.
Dinner is fish dish from Hello Fresh.
Ok time for that shower!

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 19/11/2023 10:04

I'm doing part of my NOQSL course now then need to plan English for this week because I want to do another week on a book we are really enjoying. Then I have to mark some maths assessments and plan for a lesson observation next week. It's all go!

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 19/11/2023 10:04

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I've had breakfast and been to Tesco for wrapping paper and some goodies for dgs2's birthday present. The dishwasher is on and I've had a cuppa. Soon I'll make slow cooker lentil soup. This afternoon I'll visit mum then go to dd's to see the boys and give dgs2 his present. A minced beef pie for dinner with lots of vegetables. Enjoy your day

BaublesAndGlitter · 19/11/2023 10:05

Morning! Your day sounds nice lucysmam

I'm still in bed after a truly rubbish nights sleep. I've been doing some online Christmas shopping but Will get up soon.
I'm going to put a wash on, clean the bathroom, hoover and change the bedding then go to view a house with my sister (for her).
Once home I'm hoping to cross stitch in peace for a while before going out to meet a friend for tea. Should be home early enough to paint my nails and possibly do some more online Christmas shopping before bed.

JenniferJupiterVenusandMars · 19/11/2023 10:14

Good morning everyone, it’s cloudy, damp but quite bright out here.
We had croissants for breakfast, very nice
I’ve done an hour’s or so of messing with watercolours, the chicken is in the slow cooker and DH has just taken the dog out.

I don’t have much oomph today so probably will do jacket potatoes and salad with the chicken, apple and blackberry crumble for pudding.
My crochet blanket is growing very slowly, I need to crack on with it!

Covidiokilledtheradiostar · 19/11/2023 10:25

just back from the gym. First time I’ve managed to go in over a week (kids have all had tonsillitis) feel refreshed

about to get the gammon in the slow cooker for tonight’s dinner.

ds2 and dd are entertaining themselves with hide and seek so I’ll have 5 min to start the next Christmas stocking I’m embroidering.

taking DS2 and Dd to soft play later as it’s way to wet and windy for our panned sea front walk.

DH is out tonight so I can enjoy a nice relaxing evening candles lit embroidering and catching up on my K dramas

dontforgetme · 19/11/2023 10:40

Good morning @lucysmam and all.

@lucysmam how is your dd feeling today?

Having a slow morning, cleaned up the bomb site that was my kitchen and put a load in the machine. Am now watching Pokémon with ds whilst oh cooks scrambled egg and crumpets.

Pretty chilled day planned here until late this afternoon when we meet some family for a couple of hours.

I'm feeling tired and a little urgh to be honest!

MonkeyPuddle · 19/11/2023 10:45

Quiet day here.
The kids are currently playing a game involving shaking pedometer type devices. They’ve been through most games so far this morning.
Ive got the first of to loads on and will get them away in a bit. Currently waiting on DP bringing my my next coffee.
DP will be taking DSD home later and I’ll give the bathroom a clean, then to my mums for a bit followed by tea at my cousins.
Rather nice day, no stress.

Decafflatteplease · 19/11/2023 10:46

Morning @lucysmam how is dd?

We've had a lovely morning, little ones piled into our bed for stories, I made a pile of tea and toast, lovely simple pleasures!

Teens are still in bed, one has a big project to work on for homework today.

Hopefully doing some baking this afternoon got loads of bananas so thinking slow cooker banana bread, can have some for pud tonight and the rest for DC pack lunches for the week.

I'm so excited about dinner already 😂 our butchers made toffee apple sausages around bonfire night so got those in the freezer, with mash, kale and cauliflower cheese. A proper Sunday tea!

Have a lovely Sunday all!

RabbitsRock · 19/11/2023 10:47

Good morning lucysmam & everyone. Not happy at around 6.30am when DD14 was shouting & roaring with laughter on the phone to her girlfriend. She has no consideration. When I asked her to keep the noise down, I basically got a mouthful. We live in a semi so have to think about the neighbours as well. I must have gone back to sleep as DH told me I was snoring like a steam engine! Still in my dressing gown & will shower, wash & style my hair when DH has finished. Must ring BT as our broadband is rubbish. An engineer came out a while back & we got a new hub but it’s still far from an acceptable service. Today is hopefully “tackle the piles” day & we want to blitz the whole house before Christmas. No point doing much to the bathroom as we’re having a new one fitted in just over a week. Can’t wait as I have never liked it as it is. Need to pop to Tescos for a couple of bits. I did a fairly big shop the other day but have since written my meal plan for the week. Bangers, double cream mash & baked beans for tea then we might start to watch Series 6 of The Crown - hope it’s better than the 5th!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/11/2023 10:51

Morning. I’m currently enjoying a cheese scone in the M&S cafe. I’m going to do a bit of Christmas shopping and grab a few food bits.

Then I’m going to do some sewing this afternoon- a couple of Christmas gifts.

Vegan sausage and sweet potato mash for tea.

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 19/11/2023 10:52

Well instead of the nice chilled day I had planned I have to drop everything and make a 40 mile round trip to look after my parents for the day as DF (who refuses assistance) has injured himself looking after paralysed DM. I would rather be at work as they are extremely miserable and the house is so hot it makes me feel Ill.
I also have flu. Can't wait to go to bed tonight except that I will probably have to take carers leave to go and look after them tomorrow as well.

TheTecknician · 19/11/2023 11:25

Currently having coffee in Costa. I've already been to the out of hours doctor this morning and bought petrol on the way back. Just started a course of antibiotics for this chest infection that started over a week ago! Thank goodness for NHS 111 ! Quick trip to M&S when I'm done here then home.

youdontneedtopoo · 19/11/2023 11:35

We've had "brunch pancakes" as eldest DC is calling them, because we've been so slow to get up today.
Currently all sat around with blankets watching Peter Pan. Going out to see In-Laws this afternoon, probably go for a walk as long as it doesn't rain.
I don't think any of us feel like going out as it feels so cosy indoors but we all benefit from some fresh air and DH and I can tell when DC need to let off a bit of steam.

MinnieMountain · 19/11/2023 11:41

I’m a bit tired and hungover- we had friends round last night because DS was at a sleepover, but he was brought home at 23:30 as he was crying.
I’ve been for a swim, now I’m watching crap on Netflix whilst DH takes DS to hockey.
I need to get cooking wine for supper later.
DH and DS will probably spend the afternoon gaming.

sixteenfurryfeet · 19/11/2023 11:44

I've been to a local craft fair and bought some chutney for Christmas, and I'm now going to drink coffee and catch up on whether that volcano in Iceland has decided to blow or not.

DH wants to cut back a load of bushes in the garden, so I'm praying for rain so I don't have to go out there and move all my pots and other clutter out of the way first.

We're having family round later, it's baked gammon today.

tokesqueen · 19/11/2023 11:46

Just at the airport. Off to Vienna for three days. First trip together with DH without the DC in 22 years!

Thislittlekitten · 19/11/2023 11:57

Morning all (just).

Working today. Long day today but feeling good so hoping it’s a nice day.

DH and kids will be mooching about the house. homework and gaming I suspect.

gofullpelt · 19/11/2023 12:02

Been for a long muddy walk with the dog who's now having a nap while I get showered.

I'm going to have a quick lunch then pop over to see my dad, who will regale me with all his woes.

This afternoon I'm going to make a nice casserole for dinner...would love a roast but cba to make one when it's just the two of us. At least I can freeze the leftover casserole.

Sundays are a bit boring when none of the kids are visiting!
