Buying glasses online

Has anyone done this? How does it work with fitting them etc ? Usually optician fiddles about to bend arms etc to fit.

I have a valid prescription and was thinking of you going to SS or vision express but now considering online...

My DH and I have bought from Glasses Direct. I'm wearing mine now! You can choose 5 pairs to try on at home (not prescription) and put in all your face measurements and stuff so the arms aren't too long or the frames too narrow for your face or whatever.

We've both been very happy. I'm planning on buying more soon before Christmas.

I second Glasses Direct, if you don't like your glasses they will refund you no problem

Yes I just bought from glasses direct too. Did the home trial to check which ones I liked and has new glasses withing 4 days, which is quicker than Specsavers. The arms needed fitting, but I was happy enough to do that myself and check they were comfy. There are often deals so also works out much cheaper.

DH and I both use specscart, they’re great. You take a picture wearing the sample set and send it off so that they can fit the lenses in the correct position if they are varifocals.

I did wonder about the arm bending / warming thing but we’ve never had to do it. They’ve always fitted great.

Brilliant thanks all!

I need varifocals so will check how they are fitted and look at link by pp 🤓

I've bought several pairs from Glasses Direct over the years. They have always been really good.

I've just bought my varifocals from Glasses Direct. They cost £75 incl delivery and are great. I normally pay nearly £300 from Vision Express so I'm really pleased.
