Has anyone else had these symptoms? Is it a particular virus that is going around?

My husband became ill 2.5 weeks ago with gastritis then quickly developed a bad sore throat, and heavy cold, muscle aches and extreme fatigue.
He’s not had a day off work in 25 years but this has floored him.
He went back to work after 2.5 weeks but the symptoms returned.
He now has sinusitis, a cough, multiple cold sores, and still has the gastric symptoms plus extreme fatigue.
He lost his sense of taste and smell for a while, but that’s over now. He has tested multiple times for Covid- always negative. The Gp, in a phone consultation, said it’s just a virus. It’s a very odd, long lasting one.
Has anyone else had anything similar?
I’m dreading catching it. He’s hibernating in our conservatory at the moment.

Yes we all had it, out of 4 adults only one got a positive covid test result, it’s appears to be the Perola variant from my googling of symptoms. I’m only just back to ok after 4 weeks and oral steroids, DH is still mucousy

Yep got something similar here. Started almost a month ago, awful for a week, eased off for a week with extreme fatigue and now seems to be back again. DP has come down with it in the last week too (same symptoms as I had at first) and is never usually ill. Covid tests coming up negative.

Yep I got it in September, I'm only feeling on the mend now.

It's horrible, at its worst I was amake for about 3 hours and then asleep for about 3 hours.

I had to get help from sporner corner to help with clearing my nose.
