I missed a deadline

I have had terrible trouble this week with sexual harassment/police involvement.

So I haven't been on the ball, I thought my deadline was 19th but turns out it was 17th. They want me to work for them. I want to work for them.

But I didn't get the paperwork in on time.

As it's the weekend I think it would be OK to submit the rest of the paperwork by Sunday evening and explain why I didn't get it in on time? Of course they could reject it.

But I think it's OK to do this?

Sorry you're having such a difficult time. It's no wonder you've missed something. Hopefully it'll work out ok for you.

There's nothing to lose by getting the paperwork in by 19th. You may be lucky. If not, you can at least tell yourself you tried your best.

Good luck

Well it completely depends on what it is , how time sensitive it is . Is it a company that works weekends .

ultimately though no one can tell you how the company can respond .

best you can do us submit asap and fingers crossed

Yes I know - I hadn't checked my emails for a couple of days and could have kicked myself when there was one from them yesterday asking where the paperwork was.

It's a prestige government project. I have a huge advantage with my background. I have fucked up by bring preoccupied by what's been going on this week

Christ I hate (some) men sometimes.

Yes all I can do is submit by Sunday and phone on Monday and cross my fingers.

Submit it any way but depends how they run their tenders as if the cut off was 17th they might not be able to accept it. I’d imagine a government job would have quite strict rules around it. Is there any accompanying documents that say what happens if you’ve missed the deadline?

Was it a work deadline rather than eg a cut off for a tendering process? If a work deadline i'd not worry, get it done for Monday morning/Sunday night and be effusively apologetic you'd been mistakenly working to Sunday not Friday, it'll be fine.

It's a project, I have huge experience with the field and my MSc is related. They genuinely won't have anyone else apply with the same background. Which is why they chased me yesterday but I only read my emails today.

I had already sent CV and docs but they asked me for more like equality and diversity form however I haven't been focused past few days as bloke kicked off at me then said about his prostitutes. That was a complete shock to me.

I should not have dropped the ball on this but I really hope I can salvage it.

I could say I had already applied within deadline anyway due to my previous submissions? Just a bit late with other docs due to circumstances.

I'm such a bloody idiot! I'll do it by end Sunday and hope for the best

In that case I would submit, apologise for being late even though it’s very understandable why it was late and see what happens.

I hope you are ok and good luck.

I do hope you you get through - sounds like you deserve the break
