Chicken in Nandos Beanie Wrap

loverrr · 17/11/2023 18:56

I got a Nandos this eve, Beanie wrap with Halloumi, and there was a massive piece of chicken in it that I bit into. Ive been a vegetarian for over 20 years so feel quite upset by this.
Can anyone advice me what, if anything, I can do?

Complain to them?

rubyslippers · 17/11/2023 18:58

Complain to the restaurant
that’s not good from an allergens perspective nevermind the ethical ones

milkysmum · 17/11/2023 19:00

This happened to me in MacDonalds, and I also got a piece of bacon on my veggie burger in Burger King. All you can do is complain at the time. Which I presume you did?

loverrr · 17/11/2023 19:01

I got it from deliveroo so havent done anything yet. I think I will go into the actual restaurant tomorrow with the food and complain. It just doesnt seem enough some how!

Did you speak to the manager? Hopefully they'll have sorted it for you - compensated you and apologised?

Torganer · 17/11/2023 19:02

Was it on Ubereats or deliveroo? Did you take a photo? Whenever I have complained I have been given an instant refund.

Pinkitydrinkity0 · 17/11/2023 19:03

Complain via Deliveroo on the app and also follow up with a complaint to Nandos themselves by phone call.

loverrr · 17/11/2023 19:04

Yes I would hope for a full refund definitely, it just doesn't seem enough. Like I said I haven't eaten meat for 20 years so its quite upsetting.
If I was allergic or something then it would be quite serious for them!

OP I am a vegetarian too, and I would hate this (if nothing else a disappointing take away is SO SAD) but genuinely; what are you expecting? Compensation? The person (who is probably on a crap wage per hour) who made the mistake to be fired? Them to be put in the stocks? How can a refund not be enough? Literally nothing happened other than you were given a take away you can’t eat because of an ethical choice you have made.

BarbaraofSeville · 17/11/2023 20:14

Complain to Nando's not the delivery company. They only pick up your food and bring it to you, they can only deliver what they are given.

Nandos should refund you, apologise, explain what they have done to prevent a reoccurence and give you a token gesture such as a voucher for a free meal.

Supplying a correct order without error is the basic expectation of the restaurant, because obviously it's upsetting to you when they get it wrong and they could have serious consequences, eg if they supply the wrong food to a customer with allergies.

Yeah, I’m with this. It’s disappointing and you should get your money back because you didn’t get what you ordered, but beyond that I’d just forget about it. You don’t have an allergy and it didn’t harm you. Somebody who isn’t paid a lot and does a very repetitive job muddled up and accidentally put something edible that you don’t like eating into your sandwich. I think if you’re very vehement that particular ingredients must never be in your food - whether that’s by choice or because of allergies - it’s probably best to avoid restaurants which serve that ingredient.

What are you hoping to get?

loverrr · 17/11/2023 20:40

You are right of course, its just human error. I just feel so angry about it.

Maybe if you explain how upset you are, they'll offer a voucher for another wrap as a gesture of goodwill, as well as the refund.

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 17/11/2023 20:43

Take a breath, order another take away and get a refund in the morning and move on.

Mamato29192 · 17/11/2023 20:48

I'm sorry it happened but think ya over reacting.
