Circular dining table

I have a small ish dining room. Currently have a rectangular 6/8 seater table in it. It’s too big for the room really.

Has anyone had a circular dining table in a small dining room? Does it work better/feel more spacious?

I need it to seat 4 people daily and the occasional 6 people. Are circular ones ok or do you feel squished up?

Ours is open plan but the space is not that big and circular just works so much better! Ours is a comfortable 6 seater and we love it.

We have a circular table. It fits really nicely in the space.

Things to watch - if your chairs are wide in the seat then you can’t push them all the way in when you’re not seated at it.

Pain for playing board games and cards as people are too far away.

Can you get a circular one which expands into an oval for busy days?

I have an oval one that seats four easily and extends further. I can't swear on this but think round ones are wider than mine which is 92cm x 135 cm

Someone I know has a circular one where four chairs fit under it although they have a couple more for when they need to seat more people. Also the table extends to fit more. I’ll try and add an image of the type of thing but I can’t find a pic of the actual one they have. Not having the chairs spreading beyond the table makes an enormous difference to their small dining room.
