Got to make a dessert for Xmas day. My brother had allergies to nuts and most fruits (a long list of specific ones including apples, strawberries and bananas so he generally avoids all fruit to be on the safe side as the reactions are getting worse). His girlfriend is vegan.

What on EARTH can I make for pudding?

Do a cheese course as an alternative.

So something chocolately…

I would make a Yule log but my experience with vegan sponges is that that they don’t have much structural integrity.

The other complicating factor is my DH who isn’t generally fussy but cannot abide cinnamon or nutmeggy flavours…which isn’t great at Christmas!

I do make a chocolate mousse quite regularly and I have tried it with Aquafaba before but I alsoways feel like you can taste chickpeas! 🤢

I like the treacle tart idea! That should be reasonably straightforward as I think most just roll pastry is vegan. I could get some of that swedish iced glacee which is vegan and very tasty as ice cream.
