Does anyone know what this book is? 1940s era.

Trying to find out for an 83 year old lady.

It's a book she read in the 1940s.

May be a Ladybird (may not) and it's about a fox called Roger who wore human clothes and lived on a boat.

Could try this list and see if any jogs her memory

I googled and found a 1947 book called ‘Roger and the Fox’ - It’s an American children’s book. Cannot get any more detail at this point. It’s on Amazon

Could it be Reynard, rather than Roger?

Closest I've found seems to be a fable of Reynard the Fox, with an early 20thC version and a more recent version. No boats that I can see, though!

Or a 1920s book about a fox, but again, no mention of boats and no obvious name. So a bit of a stretch!
