Yesterday afternoon I had treatment to repair a large upper jaw molar which had broken off badly. Excellent anaesthetic, didn't feel the injection, but during the 50 minute session I was aware of lots of drilling (making my jawbone vibrate), hard "pushing", scraping etc. When the anaesthetic wore off, I started to feel a dull ache in the repaired tooth area and within an hour this had spread round to lower jaw and ear - throbbing, really painful constant ache. Despite 8 paracetamol in last 17 hours the pain isn't reducing and I've hardly slept. Could there be something wrong now or is this just the after effect of such invasive (for want of a better word) treatment? I will contact dentist when 24hrs is up, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for pain relief right now please.
