Dead rat outside French windows

DM rang me this morning. Apparently a dead rat was placed right outside their French windows overnight, wasn’t their cat as she’s in at night. DM thinking maybe a fox?

So any ideas?!

Is there a bird print on the windows?

We had this when owls used to crash into our back bedroom window and drop their quarry on the patio. We only twigged what was going on when it happened more than once in the exact same spot.

If anyone's put down rat poison in the area, then it might have just expired there all by itself

Could be another cat?

@Didsomeonesaydogs I texted my DM to ask re bird print and she said no.

@Treebark don’t think another cat.

@RoseAndRose DM did mention gardeners were in the garden next door which is being landscaped and maybe poison as they have a shed.

I don’t think her cat would tackle a rat anyway, mouse yes, rat no.
