Were the Friends cast actually friends after?

Do you think they actually stayed close friends with Matthew Perry?
In their individual tributes not one of them had a photo of them and Perry within the last 20years since the show ended.
None of them could find a photo of them together outside of work?

In the reunion video it was remarked that Perry looked surprised when Schwimmer said they all still talk and hang out.

there is photos I saw some today of him with CC and Matt.le blanc. I think they had a connection however Mathew Perry was an addict for years they tend to hide away or just mix with addicts I think maybe he was difficult to be around . they don't have to have pictures on Instagram or wherever to prove they were friends I don't think.

I doubt it? Incredibly intense workload, forced together, professional competition and it all happened over a long period. I'd be more surprised if they spoke to each other at all outside work. But then I don't really have work friends.

Maybe they just whatsapped like I do with all my friends?

In his book he talks about how much time he spent in rehab and sober living facilities, it sounded like addiction stole a lot of his life. I'd imagine it was hard to stay close friends.

I think they were in contact and perhaps had occasional meet-ups but I don’t think they were chatting every day, no.

Some are closer than others, like Jennifer and Courtney for example.

My best friends and still my best friends, but my most recent picture of us all together is around 11 years old. I imagine that they didn't all meet together as a group or met regularly, but I imagine that if any of them needed anything, they'd be there for them. Matthew Perry has openly said that Jennifer Aniston has always been his one of his biggest supports through his problems

I imagine its like many ex-coworkers - have a good catch up when they see each other, but not necessarily go out of their way to see each other all the time.

Courtney and Jennifer seem to be close still though, judging by their instagrams.

Courtney cox started in and produced cougar town which had guest episodes with Jennifer, Lisa and Matthew Perry in it. Matthew Perry has said Jennifer was a big support to him. Lisa, Jennifer and Courtney seem to be close and Courtney and Jennifer seem to be very close. I think they were all friends to differing degrees. I think the reason their public tributes talk about friends and use pictures from friends is because that's what the fans want\why they are fans. Also it will be the time they spent together the most, how they connected and bonded and where the memories were made.

I don’t think their private friendships are any of our business - the photos they’ve posted as part of their tributes reflect the time they all met and the time when they were working together every single day. Of course that’s where the most powerful and poignant memories were made.

Courteney and Jennifer seem to be very close still but I think it’s really odd to assume that the six of them spent the last twenty years hanging out in some real world version of Central Perk taking pics of themselves together.

I'm not sure they were that close. I am reading his autobiography now and aside from mentioning Jen reaching out, he doesn't particularly describe a strong personal bond with them. He does speak well of them professionally though.
When he describes saying goodbye for the last time at the end of the show, he phrased it along the lines of: we said goodbye and told we'd keep in touch and meet up knowing all along it is the kind of thing you say and it doesn't happen.
Having said that, they were at his funeral when only a limited number of guests were invited so who knows.

Well, Courtney had lunch with Matt in 2019. They also used to leave the odd messages on social media for birthdays and so on.
So not hanging out all the time but catching up every few years and shout outs in between?

It would be nice if they were all bezzie mates with each other, bit the reality is that they were work colleagues. Work colleagues who got on very well, who realised that groups negotiation would do them well, but work colleagues all the same.

I have a work colleague from 20 years ago who I'd consider a friend, five more I'd go for a pint with. 100 or so I have no desire to see again. Why judge the "friends" differently?

I think it makes sense they posted photos from their time on friends - there definitely ARE more recent photos of the lot of them, there was a reunion recently! But these are the photos from when they were probably all at their closest

My two oldest & closest friends of 30+ and 20+ years - I think I have one photo with each of them.

@tothelefttotheleft she writes the preface and is listed in his thanks at the end. I also read it somewhere (maybe even in his book). They definitely had a lasting friendship.

IIRC MP said in the reunion episode that when they saw each other at events they would just go off and talk only to each other. I think they were very close, IME you don't need to speak to someone every week to be very close to them, that sort of bond means you can go long periods of time but still have an extremely strong connection to them.
