tretinoin not working

I have a prescription from dermatica, I've been using it for pretty much a year about 5 times per week, honestly can't see any difference. Crows feet haven't improved and I have the start of these awful smile lines at the sides of my mouth even though I'm only 32. I have a slight marionette line on one side too.
I thought it was clinically proven to work, I apply it at night before bed, I'm just pretty disappointed. Has anyone else found this?

I thought that it stops your skin from aging more, so if you had those things it won't magically fix them, but would help prevent them deepening and more forming?

Maybe that's it and I misunderstood, and I suppose they're dynamic wrinkles so maybe it won't work on them?

It didn’t work for me at all. Had all the “tret uglies” (redness, sensitivity, peeling oh my actual god, the peeling) with literally no benefit whatsoever. None at all.

I use Medik8 Crystal retinal 6 now alternated with Sunday Riley Good Genes, both sealed in with rosehip oil which is making much more difference than my Dermatica ever did.

Honestly as tret it literally raved about on here I felt a bit of a failure for jacking it in, but the constant peeling did not improve and made me absolutely miserable. That’s not what skincare is all about.

In general tret starts to show results from third month. If you're not getting the effects then you may change the brand, I generally get it from skinorac and see if it works or you may try out accutane.

What strength is the tret in your Dermatica prescription? Some of the prescriptions I see are so weak.

Pinkyzstar · 29/11/2023 13:08

Generally 0.1% is the strongest but I started from 0.025%.

Me too OP. I think after this tube has finished il be cancelling my subscription and throwing the towel in. I really see no difference. In fact my skin looks worse with redness and irritation, despite doing it all properly. (Sandwiching it, alternate nights, repairing skin barrier on the days off, etc)

I think Il be going back to medik8 retinol,
which is a shame. I had high hopes for the tret but I'm glad it's not just me. You only ever see people raving about it.
