Nice chocolate recommendations?

I want to order my DH some fancy chocolate for his birthday- I find him difficult to buy for as he's not really into 'stuff' and he's chronically ill so he can't enjoy tickets for a trip out somewhere. I feel like some delicious food is something he can actually enjoy.

Do any of you have a favourite shop or chocolatier you buy from online? I'm looking at places like Hotel Chocolat but don't know if there's better out there.

He really likes white chocolate and wouldn't go for flavours like rose, violet, pistachio etc. Just looking for good quality :)

TIA for any recs- Mumsnet never lets me down for stuff like this!

I went into Hotel Chocolat the other week and couldn’t get over the prices now!!

I would look for a chocolatier local to you if possible, always so nice 🤗

I discovered Monty Bojangles truffles earlier this year and they are delicious

If you want to shop from an independent shop then Slattery is amazing and you could make a hamper with chocolate and other delicious things:

Leonidas are my favourite. Nehuas and Godiva also good

Stephisaur · 15/11/2023 11:14

Hotel Chocolat is always my go to.

Monty Bojangles Truffles are basically crack cocaine, I can't control myself around them. Very moreish.

Toney's Chocaloney (sp?) is very yummy too, but product range might be a bit limited for what you're after.

I second Leonidas.

Prestat used to be nice but like many others they went downhill.

DottyMacaroon · 15/11/2023 11:15

Lily O’Brien is my fave.

If you want truffles, do not higher with these.

They used to be lovely but the last two boxes have been utterly tasteless.

I like Leonidas too. They have a good crack to their chocolate, no nasty waxiness.

ShufflingHedgehogs · 15/11/2023 11:18

I love Chococo - always order a big box for Christmas.

Which reminds me......

justalittlesnoel · 15/11/2023 11:19

I love Laderach!! Absolutely delicious and they'll post too, it's incredible. I always get some when I'm in London or somewhere I spot one, the hazelnut milk chocolate is something else 🤤

Thank you so much for your replies everyone! As predicted Mumsnet has come through yet again😊

My poor Dh has had a crap year so it's been lovely to order him some treats🤗
Got a mix of things from Leonidas and Rococo- v excited!
