The noise is on/off, is there anything I’m doing wrong? It’s brand new, out the box last night.

I have the same model but I do not understand your question I'm afraid could you perhaps clarify?

funbags3 · 14/11/2023 20:05

Is it set to a certain humidity level? If it is, it'll turn itself on and off to stay at that level.

This. What percentage have you got the humidity set at?

Thanks

The machine is plugged in, the correct lights are on but the noise it makes is not constant - it’s on / off - intervals of maybe 10 minutes.

I firts used last night begire bed and this morning the water tray was half way full. I don’t if the noise was on/off last night as I went to bed.

Tonight I’m using it again and noticing that the noise comes on/off and is not constant.

Hope it is more clear now!

Is your washing dry?

Ah ok. Thanks make sense.
So it is probably not collecting a lot from the washing is it?
Should I have the humidity level set for higher or lower if I’m using mainly for helping dry the laundry?

I don't have the same dehumidifier but mines set to continuous when I use it for drying my washing. Do you have a similar setting?

funbags3 · 14/11/2023 20:20

You can set the humidity level or just run it on continuous.

Icantbelieveitsnot · 14/11/2023 20:21

On the humidity setting 'CO' stands for continuous operation if you don't have a laundry setting.

Hmindr68 · 14/11/2023 20:25

If you hit the laundry setting, it should set it to 35% humidity, which should see it work continuously. I sometimes hear the fan increase/decrease if it’s just on normal operation, but not on-off.

What setting is yours on?

ChimChimeny · 14/11/2023 20:25

Ours has a button with a t shirt on which is specifically for washing. If yours doesn’t set it to 35 (our laundry setting) or continuous.
putting it in a small, contained room with the washing will dry it quicker, ours goes in our bathroom. Dries loads quicker than when it was the open plan kitchen/diner

Hmindr68 · 14/11/2023 20:26

Mine has never collected half a tank in one night! It must be working well, despite the the noise.

marshmallowfinder · 14/11/2023 20:41

Use the laundry setting. It has a picture of a shirt on. It'll run for 6 hours then turn itself off.

longtompot · 14/11/2023 21:40

Mine isn't the same make but it also switches on and off during its run. It works really well and my washing is usually dry after a day, sometimes two as I switch the dehumidifier off at night as it's in our bedroom.

willowstar · 14/11/2023 22:31

It is automatically set at something like 52. So if the humidity in your home reaches that level it will turn off. It constantly monitors the humidity level and will turn itself back on again if it goes higher.

To dry laundry you need to put it in a room with the washing, press the button with the t-shirt symbol on and close the door. Ideally leave the dehumidifier close to the washing with the fan blowing on to it. In about six hours it will be a lot drier. Mine doesn't dry completely in that time but it is a lot better.

ah that is interesting!

I have my fan blowing at the laundry too but not the dehumidifier 😅

I heard the heating also has to be on, is that true? I don’t need it constantly on atm only a few minutes a day

Mine doesn’t have the t-shirt symbol but I believe is at CO - constant now. The problem is when I pick this setting I also have to choose a number? This is what trips me.
It is a shame because I looked into other machines with the laundry setting clearly displayed and that would have been easier.

I have a 12L meaco and the buttons are simple and easy to use. I did read the instruction manual cover to cover

A button in the middle changes your humid level

I set mine to 45

The button on the opposite side to the red on off button is the laundry button and it this will automatically turn your machine off after 6 hours so I don't use it

If you use the laundry button then it automatically changes the humidity level to CO so you need to change it back to 45 ish otherwise when you turn it on the humidity level is 0

Mirrormeback · 15/11/2023 00:27

When you turn the machine on it tells you the humidity level in the room

This is NOT the level you have set it to

The number is the actual humidity in your room at that time

marshmallowfinder · 16/11/2023 13:56

Op, just read the manual carefully! Also, no, you don't need the heating on as well.

VelvetVoice · 17/11/2023 08:38

I think I bought the wrong one 😢
Watched the video from the manufacturer and it says nothing about drying clothes

Will see if I can return and get another.

It will still dry your clothes it just didn't have a a specific setting. You need to have the humidity level set quite low for it to dry clothes.

Mirrormeback · 17/11/2023 22:50

They all dry clothes because they suck moisture from the air

Mine just has a special button for 'laundry' and all that means is that it turns itself off automatically after 6 hours for some reason

I just turn it on as normal for it to dry my washing and don't use the laundry button

There is no 'special' laundry setting

Mirrormeback · 17/11/2023 22:52

Yours has a timer by the looks of it

So you can set the time and the humidity level

Set it to 30 for washing I guess and the timer for however long you want it in for

Mirrormeback · 17/11/2023 22:56

You bought a really good one OP

I just looked online
