Why do people believe that all women are attracted to women

Mary403 · 14/11/2023 19:28

Because as a straight woman I've heard many of people say that "all women are a bisexual" and I also had my Ex looking a threesome with another woman because he thought I was bisexual. I do know that some straight women watch lesbian porn but then in my opinion I dont believe you are straight if you get off to it and then these women will say things like "but even straight women are attracted to women".

Lol I wish that I was bisexual cause I cant stand men mostly and I prefer female company but womens bodies just dont turn me on especially minge which I really dont know why men are attracted to it

"People" don't believe that, because most people have the intelligence to understand that women aren't a homogenous group with singly defined absolute desires.

The type of person who spouts this nonsense usually have an agenda to push.

Changingplace · 14/11/2023 19:33

People like who? Nobody has ever said this to me irl at all.

nocoolnamesleft · 14/11/2023 19:34

Isn't this just based on a male fantasy?

RampantIvy · 14/11/2023 19:35

Do they?

SweetBirdsong · 14/11/2023 19:35

What 'people?' Confused I don't think it. And no-one I know has said they do.

UnimaginableWindBird · 14/11/2023 19:36

I'm bisexual but didn't realise this for ages because there's such a strong message that it's typical heterosexual behaviour to have romantic friendships in your teens and crushes on women and to think about woman in a sexual way. And it's sort of human nature to think everyone is more or less like you, so I just believed it and wasn't until I read threads on here where straight women talked about how they genuinely didn't find women attractive and the thought of having sex with a woman was unpleasant that I actually believed that straight women didn't fancy other women

The only people I know who say this are teenage boys. (Or grown men with the mentality of teenage boys.)

Teenagers and low-quality trolls.

Go and have an early bath before you go to bed.

Same here. I've never herd of this at all and I'm as old as Moses!

Mummymummy89 · 14/11/2023 19:39

Wow, who thinks that?!

I'm sure many women here have had an experience like mine... a female friend once came onto me and I was just left stone cold. I wanted to want her but I just couldn't. It just didn't compute. She was objectively very beautiful and lovely. I've heard both men and women, gay and straight, have equivalent stories.

Towerofsong · 14/11/2023 19:39

I used to hear similar but when I finally figured myself out, I think in restrospect it was from people who didn't want to hear that I thought I was gay, or thought I didn't want to be gay, so would explain it away by saying it was normal to find women more attractive than men. But there's a big difference between finding someone aesthetically attractive and finding them sexually attractive.

A difference that I wish I'd understood much earlier in life.

TheKnittedCharacter · 14/11/2023 19:40

You must mix with a strange bunch.

Mary403 · 14/11/2023 19:43

@Mummymummy89 so you wanted to have her? Sounds like your attracted to women

Mintesso · 14/11/2023 19:43

I heard this from gay men at university, really pissed me off. They could not grasp that I genuinely had zero interest in sex with my own sex and seemed convinced it was homophobic not to want to be in their promiscuous gang. Was odd.

Angrycat2768 · 14/11/2023 19:45

My teenager unreasonably drives me mad with his demanding me to answer the question ' why does everyone think...' Before coming up with a statement that hardly anyone believes.

I gave heard of some women who have, when they were older, left their husbands for women. But I wonder if that is because they felt they had conformed when younger, and were actually Gay.

Crazykatie · 14/11/2023 19:45

I know a few that don’t mix with men at all, they have had boyfriends in the past, one was married but an old girlfriend turned her taste, the others I don’t think are in a “sexual” relationship, just social.

Mary403 · 14/11/2023 19:43

No. I wanted to want her. Because she was a good friend and I didn't want to hurt her feelings or damage the friendship. But I didn't want her. I was physically quite repulsed.

backtowinter · 14/11/2023 20:55

Jay, is that you?

Reading comprehension not your strong point? Perhaps that's why you believe in nonsense.
