New neighbours- introductions?

New neighbours moved in yesterday. They are attached to us.
Old neighbours were awful, awful people so glad they've gone.
After previous I'm anxious.
New neighbours seem nice, possibly young family like us.

Would you bite the bullet & knock on & introduce yourself? Send a card?

DH doesn't want anything to do with anyone know after previous experience but obviously they live next door.

I'd knock (probably not with a card) and introduce myself.

Or if possible, see if I can catch them in the garden so it's a bit less formal.

This is what I thought.
I was thinking to catch them outside?

Catch them outside for sure.

When we moved, we had a couple of cards popped through the letterbox. Next door to the one side caught us outside while we were unloading the van 😂

A couple of other neighbours popped round and introduced themselves. They brought treats (chocolates/baked goods) but they were older.

I'd pop around and say hello. I wouldn't take a card.

When we moved in our older neighbours brought round a card and a bottle of wine. It was lovely.
When they died and a new couple moved in we did the same for them.

Yes - go and introduce yourselves. It's much better to start off on a positive note. Then if there are any problems down the line you are more likely to be able to resolve them amicably.

Definitely! We've always done this and our neighbours have always done it for us.
When we moved to our current house the neighbours knocked on our door with a card. We exchanged numbers and they asked if we'd like some cakes they made. I'd personally find it quite unfriendly not to introduce yourselves.

We said hi to our new neighbours when we bumped into them in the road. Did help as they’re now doing noisy building work!!
