Does anyone else miss newspapers?

What do you use for dirty jobs? Polishing shoes for example? Changing animal cages. Potting out seedlings inside because it's raining. Cleaning fireplaces.....

I still buy papers so don't miss them
Just buy a paper?

We still get newspapers delivered so there's always a surplus in our house.

I still get a Sunday broadsheet delivered so always have some paper.

If I need a newspaper I can pick up a free one in the shopping centre, they usually have stacks of them. I keep Amazon packaging and use that for potting plants on.
I can't remember the last time I polished shoes though.

We get free ones through the door.

Just buy a paper then? There’s nothing nicer than costing up in front of the fire with the Sunday papers. Or laying in the garden in the summer. I still get a paper copy of the Sunday Times. The international reporting is outstanding. DD loves the Style section. I read Culture too.

The rest is used for a range of jobs. Lining the kindling basket and starting fires being the main two. The Sports section is surprisingly combustible. My weekly New Statesman on the other hand is not at all inflammatory.

I get a Sunday one for a treat every few weeks (god that sounds sad!!)

My cousin lives a short distance down the road. He has a daily paper delivered, we don't. He is happy for us to raid his recycling bin after its put out the day before bin day so that's what we do when we are running short of newspaper. I sometimes wonder what people who don't know the arrangement think if they see us ferreting around amongst his recycling.
