Esther McVey, Minister without Portfolio - what's that all about?

How patronising - I assume it's meant as a sop to the red wall/right wing to have a 'minister for common sense'.

She's one of the 16 previous housing ministers of the last 13 years!

Yes that pretty much sums it up. A sop to the right, an attempt to reign in the inevitable uprising which will follow Braverman's sacking. To balance the return of centrist Cameron. I

Common sense. Someone who condones child neglect is inappropriate for such a role.

It is common sense not to leave pre-school children alone in a holiday resort, which Esther McVey has condoned. Her LGBT record will not be viewed as common sense by many I expect.

The “Look, it’s not just jobs for the boys” minister?

Minister without Portfolio is not unheard of. Peter Mandelson was one during Tony Blair's early days.

She doesn't need a portfolio, she's awaiting delivery of a wand and a bottle of Magic Potion.💫

I know others have had this title, was commenting on the nonsensical role McVey has been given.

Apologies - I misinterpreted your question.

Wasn't really a proper question I suppose - more a WTF!
