Looking for a new family car and this seems to come up a lot within our budget. Usually 5 years old or so. Has anyone got/had one? They seem to be 1.2 engines but are they sluggish? It’s for a family of 4, 2 DC- 6 and 2 so still need car seats. We travel a lot in the UK for holidays so need a decent boot.

Other options seem to be a Vauxhall Crossland X or Ford Kuga.

It’s too much money (up to £13k) for us to get wrong.

Had one, after years of driving other Peugeots so thought I knew what I was getting, and HATED it. Avoid. It was an Allure Premium so not even the budget range. It felt cheap, plasticky and clunky to drive, felt like a downgrade. The bite on the automatic was terrible on hill starts. If you're set on it, take it for a lengthy test drive, or try the 3008 instead. We have a Toyota RAV4 hybrid and love that. Highly recommend giving that a test drive.

We bought a new one in 2017 and it did have a LOT of problems. Got rid.

Thank you for your replies! That’s answered that and saves a very expensive mistake.
