Another vinted issue

To add to the many I’ve seen!

I’ve sold loads with no issues, have a completely 5 star rating and this buyer has stressed me to the point I’m not sleeping.
I listed the dress very honestly - it is labelled as a size 10 but is not - I wore as a 14 and I stated it was very oversized, and in my opinion, would suit a 14-16.

They received at the weekend and didn’t mark as delivered (chose Royal Mail which doesn’t update automatically).

I messaged to ask was there an issue they weren’t stating it was received - and they said it was too big and they’d need a refund.
I have stated an oversize fit and what my opinion was - they are saying it is more a size 24 and it is significantly not as described! (Which 100% not - I was a size 22 previously and it would have been skin tight!). It is a completely straight dress, so no definition whatsoever - essentially a very pretty sack.

I’ve stopped engaging with her as genuinely it’s stressing me out so much on top of everything else I have going on, and I’ve raised to vinted. Will have to wait for their “ruling” but she is still not marking as delivered and then pressing the “I have an issue” button.

I feel I was open and honest in my listing. I’ve bought stuff that hasn’t fitted before and chalked it up to, well I can’t try it on and return, it’s the risk you take with buying online.

I don’t know what I want to get from posting. I’m just really upset at basically being called a liar, the potential loss of my clean “record”, and losing out money wise as I’m pretty sure that unlike evri etc where you remain compensated for the postage, I’d take a hit on that. It’s only £3.50 but we are watching the pennies.

List it accurately then and point out the size and how big it actually is. As a buyer I would be extremely annoyed too.

That’s exactly what she did as stated above… she was honest above sizing. It is labelled a 10 but v oversized.

Just refund and move on. It is not worth losing sleep over.

I buy loads on vinted and very few people have a 100% perfect record. As long as you keep it over 4* you'll be fine.

Did you read the OP? That's what she did!

OP try not to stress. I sell on counted loads and I lost my clean 5 star rating a long time ago with some awkward buyers and people trying it on (one took a photo of my dress covered in ketchup which they had obviously poured over it to claim a refund as it was sent pristine!!)

Losing the 5 star rating honestly doesn't affect your ability to sell. I've had to issue refunds before and it is annoying if you're watching the pennies but do try not to stress about it. And it's definitely not worth losing sleep over x

Take the Royal Mail option off your profile so you don't have the same issue again. Anything oversize you sell in future, put the actual garment measurements in the description, but honestly don't stress over this. I know you're watching the pennies but for £3.50 it's not worth it. I treat Vinted as a way to make a bit of cash where in the past I'd probably just have taken things to the charity shop.

Once you've bought and sold on there a few times it's clear not everyone leaves feedback, some people don't confirm receipt, etc. And some people are grabby over a couple of quid. I bought a pair of shoes described as worn around the house a few times, which although in reasonable condition were not as pristine as I was expecting. I didn't complain because for a few quid it wasn't worth it.

catmomof3 · 14/11/2023 07:16

Did you add actual measurements? I always get out the tape measure so I can accurately list that way I know I am covered.

So rude when it was you that didn't bother reading the op properly. Happens all the time & is so annoying!

Thank you all (bar one) for being so kind. It’s going to refund.

I really appreciate the kindness, it made me feel just a bit better.
