F for following

I've seen this on a number of threads lately. Posters want to see what happens on a thread so post 'F' so that it stays on their 'threads I'm on' feed.

I get that some threads are more interesting than others, and sometimes a poster doesn't have anything to contribute to the discussion.

But it comes across that the F poster is nosy and wants to know the juicy gossip when it emerges.

Added to that, it can sometimes fill up a particularly fast-moving thread so that it reaches 999 before the OP has the chance to digest the responses to her/his initial post.

An far easier and less 'curtain twitching' way to keep an eye on a thread is to use the 'save thread' function.

Is it really that deep? It's a social forum, of course people are nosy! I've definitely replied to a few threads to see what's gonna happen! Albeit more than 'f'

There is no save thread function on android.

brokenhearted2 · 13/11/2023 16:33

Wow. You could have made the suggestion without all the weird judgmental character attacks

Hoardasurass · 13/11/2023 16:34

Or watch thread and then it's in your watching list with helpful emails when the op updates

LittleGreenDragons · 13/11/2023 16:38

Watch thread doesn't always work for me so I don't use it on threads I really want to come back to that day but it's fine for general look at my kitty threads.

But I agree that something more could be typed instead of just F, even it's "good luck OP!". Still blatant but less annoying.

It's from F for Facebook, and it's just as annoying on there.
