Going to a Michelin star restaurant, what to wear?!

I'm really excited but I'm terrible at dressing up, feel silly and out of place.

I'm 5ft6, size 10-12. No heels please.

Thanks

Which one?

Sarvanga38 · 13/11/2023 16:30

And lunch or dinner?

losenotloose · 13/11/2023 16:35

Dinner at the Tudor pass in Egham

We have been there(it’s fab).

Dress would be not dressy, imo. It’s quite informal. Just looked at our photos and my dh and the other guy wore jeans with shirts. I wore a slip dress with a jumper and white trainers - so smart casual attire.

Clean and tidy is fine, no real need to dress up unless you want to.

losenotloose · 13/11/2023 16:57

Yay, this has made me feel better!

I have been there too. No need to dress up, just smart casual as previous poster said. The focus is on the food and it is wonderful! Enjoy.

Looks gorgeous OP, just my sort of place, have a fantastic time! Wear what makes you feel good.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/11/2023 17:08

Smart Casual is fine for Great Fosters.
I'd avoid jeans and trainers 😊 (though I'm sure you wouldn't be turned away)

therealcookiemonster · 13/11/2023 17:55

this is not one of the ones with a formal dress code, so you are fine just wearing something low key but nice. personally I would choose a nice knee length/midi dress.

MistyMountainTop · 13/11/2023 17:57

We often used to have our Christmas do there, it must have gone up in the world!

Whatever you will feel comfortable in (within reason). There are relatively few Michelin starred restaurants that still have a dress code. Smart casual covers most in my experience.
