Chocolates? They give you fennel seeds dressed up like tiny tiny liquorice comfits here.

Are they mints? Bendicks do nice boxes of chocolate mints that are usually on offer in supermarkets in the run up to Christmas.

Otherwise, I don't know and suspect that there's considerable variation across the country, as most Indian restaurants are independent, so will do things differently.

Isn't it weird to think that all restaurants give the same thing out? Mine doesn't give chocolates. Your best bet is to ring them and ask.

Have you considered it's just your local ones OP? I've seen mints, smarties, and fennel seeds at various restaurants up and down the country, but not chocolates! You might need to ask them next time you're in.
