Not even God can sort this shit show out.

IvorTheEngineDriver · 13/11/2023 10:58

I agree.

When the chips were down and he had to face a major crisis (all of his own making) - he ran away.

And this man is going to guide our foreign policy. You coudn't make it up.

I didn't even realise he was still an mp.

He’s not. They’ll make him a Lord and he can be a member of the cabinet that way, is my understanding.

It’s a farce and we need a GE.

hotblacktea · 13/11/2023 11:03

cameron was formally awarded a life peerage this morning, now he can take on the job

boris must be on next, then maybe they will dig up thatcher and churchill

ditalini · 13/11/2023 11:04

That's a bit of a statement when you have no sitting MPs in your party who you think are up for one of the big jobs.

Isthiswinter · 13/11/2023 11:08

I think DC have been brought it a show of consistency for the GE.

SadSandwich · 13/11/2023 11:11

The architect of austerity and BREXIT. Talk about falling forward he runs away after fucking it up then gets appointed to the Lords and made Hime Secretary - just what. Awful they’ve got to go.

cardibach · 13/11/2023 11:13

Is he trying to steer back to the centre because of the polls?
It dies reveal the utter dearth of talent in the Parliamentary Tory Party.

Cattenberg · 13/11/2023 11:24

Amazingly, Suella has had two stints as Home Secretary and neither one ended well. Now the Tories are recycling David Cameron. I think Foreign Secretary is an odd choice for the guy whose claim to international fame is that he accidentally caused Brexit.

If the Tory party has no new ideas and no new talent, it will go round and round in ever decreasing circles until it disappears up its own backside.

I think we are at the circling the drain point now tbh.

With all that's going on in the world we could really do with a government that isn't up its own backside.

Yes, I think that is exactly what he is trying to do. Previously it was said he was too scared to sack her because he needed to keep the right wing of the party onside. I think this is his attempt to face that head on and bring some more centrist Tories back into the cabinet. Let's face it if he doesn't win back a significant part of the centre ground in the next 12 months they will annihilated at the next election.

therealcookiemonster · 13/11/2023 11:51

frankly I would rather have the muppets in the government...

It says so much about what Boris Johnson did to the Conservative Party that Sunak cannot find one suitable MP amongst the - you know - democratically elected people that were voted for by members of the public to represent them - members of the Conservative Party in Parliament.

I think it is utterly disgusting he's fast tracked Cameron to the Lords. It is just so undemocratic.

I wasn't a fan of Sunak's before this but thought he was an improvement on the liar Johnson and just about tolerable - this is too much for me though because it undercuts democracy at a very very sensitive time.

I know there is precedent for this (Lord Carrington) but to do it here is insanity. I object both to the anti-democratic principle but here also to the individual. Cameron fucked up with Brexit and then ran away and left a huge mess for others to sort out. On What basis should someone like that be Lords fast tracked and stuffed into one of the great offices of state.

I've always been a Conservative voter but with this shit show Sunak has lost my vote.

Hello Reform UK!

BIossomtoes · 13/11/2023 11:59

He should have brought back Rory Stewart instead. He’d be an awesome Foreign Secretary.

MyCircumference · 13/11/2023 12:03

oh yes Rory Stewart

Absolutely . He ran away to his Shepherds hut to write his autobiography (£4m+ advance) and then only came back into public eye to answer questions about the £7million he earned from a Greensil. He is not fit come back as the Downing Street cleaner never mind such a prominent position. Lord? Him? Why do weasels like him always make a come back. We’ll have Boris back next ( yes May and Truss both remained serving MPs… no running away from the women… and yet they get continuously slated by the media).

SinnerBoy · 13/11/2023 12:29

Well, glad though I am to see her gone, with time on her hands, I fear for the nation's Dalmatian puppies.

Mabelface · 13/11/2023 13:57

Well, a pig fucking, child forgetting, accidental brexiteer is an obvious choice. No, wait ...
