Sam Bourne, which is the pen name of journalist Jonathan Freedland. They’re absolutely brilliant. Several focus on Judaism where Brown’s are on Christianity.

Scott Mariani is awesome, and prolific.

There are loads of hunt the relic type books that are actually better written than Dan Brown’s.
