If you sell stuff online…

…What’s the easiest way to post things?

I’ve got a lot of things that I’d like to sell online (eg Vinted, eBay), but they would need posting rather than collection, in many cases.

What’s the best way to organise postage? My local Post Office is barely open and I can’t guarantee I could get there more often than once a week, if that. I received something via Vinted from Evri recently. Any tips please??

Buy postage online from Royal Mail, 24 hours / 48 hours tracked online, postie will collect from your house, or you can drop in letterbox, at depot. Still cheapest and most reliable carrier, despite what people say.

It’s super easy these days. Find what’s local to you - Evri parcel shop? Royal Mail collection? In post lockers? Then choose those options - you can toggle them off and on in Vinted

I'm a big fan of Inpost. There are a couple of lockers near me you just scan item and pop into locker. There is also a couple of newsagents that accept yodel & Evri near me

Okay, great, thank you very much - looks like Yodel is my best bet. There’s a new agent that’s a 6min walk away which accepts it. Inpost lockers looked promising but require a drive.

Royal mail tracked. You can buy it online and schedule a collection from your home. It's a really good service, and I haven't found any postal service for small parcels that is cheaper or more efficient.

Thanks - do you have to print a label? I don’t have a printer, hence the Yodel option to print at the shop looks promising.

Do you charge the buyer postage?

I haven't used the collect service for a while, but I have a feeling you can set it so that the postie brings a label with him.

RM will bring labels (just make sure you put the right one on each package if you have more than one!) It's by far the most reliable service in my area and I use Tracked 48 for most things.

Great, thank you very much! Feeling optimistic maybe I can shift some of my piles of stuff before Christmas…
