Sat in my hotel room before I go to Tenerife tomorrow to marry my partner and I'm not well at all.
Heavy head and gravelly throat -feeling like I need to sneeze all the time.
Probably a head cold starting
Feeling knackered
I get married Tuesday and 40 friends and family are also flying out tomorrow with us
I'm feeling sorry for myself
I'm never I'll
It's not covid (did a test just incase )
Not really any point to this I'm just feeling sorry for myself.
Flights at 10.45 am tomorrow so at least I don't have to get up till 7 am .
The airport is connected to hotel so only a 5 min walk
Just wish I was at the hotel already

Get your hands on some protein - is there a shop to buy prawns? Or tuna? Lots of protein energy to fight the illness plus water.

RubySunset82 · 12/11/2023 20:09

Water, paracetamol and rest. Lots of rest.

aaronbing · 12/11/2023 20:09

@countdowntonap weirdly I had tuna pasta in the hotel
Currently sat at my hotel window watching planes and drinking water and vitamin c tablet

Then can relax at hotel Tomorrow night
It's just typical as I never get I'll
My head is that heavy I keep feeling sickly

Do you think il be okay on the plane?
Think my anxiety is taking over so it's making me feel so much worse
Partner is fast asleep in bed (just after 8pm here ) so I'm just sat on my own stewing

I swear by Vicks First defence - grab some at the airport tomorrow (if they have a chemist). Plenty of water to drink, lemon juice and honey in hot water... if it's that kind of hotel.

notanothernamechange12 · 12/11/2023 20:14

I was ill on my wedding day, took all the drugs I could and drank rum and coke to keep me going. Sounded like i smoked 49 a day for my speech! But still had a good day, you'll still have a good day

Frostine · 12/11/2023 20:14

Firstly , congratulations Wine
Try to get lots of vit C in you , glug orange juice , tabs , lemsip etc.
Hope it goes before the day and all goes well.

Mariposista · 12/11/2023 20:19

Rest and plenty of fluids.
Adrenaline will get you through this. And booze haha
Congratulations

Watto1 · 12/11/2023 20:20

Dose yourself up on anything you can get your hands on and power through! It’ll still be an awesome day. I had a migraine on my wedding day and had to have a little nap (plus migraleve) straight after the ceremony. I look back and it was still amazing.

Over the counter meds will get you through. Just remember lemsip/cold&flu sachets typically have paracetamol in, so include those when you're totting up how much paracetamol you've had and when.

TeenLifeMum · 12/11/2023 20:34

Beachams liquid medicine regularly.

Thehonestbadger · 12/11/2023 20:35

Not intending to freak you out but the first 36-48 hours of me being poorly with covid I was still testing negative (DH had it at the time so I was testing daily)

It was like a grotty cold only not very snotty but I lost my appetite and felt super sick

aaronbing · 12/11/2023 20:37

@Thehonestbadger well I actually had covid 3 weeks ago and haven't been 100% since tbh
I tested negative after 6 days but felt tired /little upset stomach and now this
It's been a rubbish few weeks

Op, yoi will be amazed at how much adrenaline will get you through the big day! For now, rest, sleep, stay warm, hydrate and get some paracetamol into you.

Fwi, if you're sick on holidays, you can Google private online doctors for the area you're in. I was in mainland Spain and had an infection. I paid 30 euros for a phone consultation and got a prescription for an antibiotic straight to my inbox 5 minutes later. Just so you know!

Try not to panic. It's amazing how the body and mind can work together! I will be praying for you, OP. Will you keep us updated?

Get to sleep now!

aaronbing · 13/11/2023 07:01
