Workplace ‘traditions’?

I don’t know where it comes from but rather than bringing individual presents it seems to be the thing to bring sweets in from wherever someone has been.

Birthdays are marked by the person whose birthday it is bringing cake/ treats in.

that's quite common in a few places i've worked it and i quite like it.

the one tradition i don't like is secret santa, which many places i've worked in, does that at christmas. whilst it can be fun, it normally ends up being jokey landfill presents and i'm increasingly feeling uncomfortable with that.
