Heating and radiator problems

Hello! Any plumbing or heating experts here please?!

So we have noticed that previously one of our radiators in the house was nearly always on (even if heating and hot water was off) but got told this can be normal depending on what heating system we have. It used to always be the bathroom rad that was always on. Ok.

But now I notice that three of our radiators are nearly always on. Interestingly the extra two radiators were two radiators that were fitted recently (ie a direct replacement for two old ugly rads) so wonder if this is why.

Any tips on what this could be? Should I get a plumber out? I assume it’s their area. Is it an easy fix?

As you can tell I am far from an expert. Any comments very much appreciated. Thank you.

This happened with one of ours, the diverter valve was stuck

ah thank you!!!! Is this something a plumber would fix if I called one out? Sorry I’m hopeless. Or is it a possible diy job. Thanks again.

@Beachwaves127 don't worry - I haven't a clue either we just have such a temperamental boiler I remember it being one of the many problems we have had 😂 we called British Gas out as we have cover with them and he sorted it - I wouldn't know where to start. He did something with the handles underneath for the water pressure but I remember him having to take the front of the boiler off - if you can, I would call one out

I can't help but I think @pigletjohn may be able to. Hopefully he will get this bat signal alert

Quite likely, and needs a qualified gas boiler person if you have a combi boiler.

If you have a hot water cylinder, it is a bit easier as the equivalent part is not inside the boiler, and typically lasts about 20 years.

Thanks @PigletJohn I think we must have a combi boiler as i know the boiler is not that old. We have cover so we will get someone out! Thank you

and thanks @ScottBakula
