Are you a happy homebird?

Does anyone else just love pottering around at home when they can?

I work full time and have plenty of friends etc so am out and about a lot, but if I was given the choice I’d much prefer to spend my leisure time at home.

Today, I’ve done a bit of gardening, I now have dinner on, and I’m sorting through a wardrobe to pack up summer clothes.

After dinner there’ll be a fire, candles, wine, and a movie.

DH is less of a homebody but we were out all day yesterday so he’s happy to be at home today.

Are you a homebird, or do you need to get out every day?

I'm a homebird but I like to get out at least once during the day. I usually have to go out a few times a day as I've got kids but when they are at school I love just being in the house on my own, doing my housework in peace and just sitting there on my own. I don't really enjoy going out at night anymore, I'm most content at home with my husband and knowing we're all home safe.

Yup, love being home!

DramaAlpaca · 12/11/2023 16:16

Yes. I work full time and have stuff to do at the weekend, but I love it if I can stay at home at least one day of the weekend and just potter about. If I can get the shopping etc done on Friday evening and have two days doing nothing I'm even happier. I don't have young children around now, so it's easy to plan do-nothing days.

I prefer being at home, or within a 20 minute walk of home, because everything I need is there.

I do go out on occasion but not much these days. Only to the pub or a restaurant or a museum.

I'm a home bird and can happily spend a full day just pottering, although a full weekend would be a bit much. DH likes to get out and about daily though so we try to find a balance (or he goes out without me).

Much prefer to be at home than anywhere else.

fourelementary · 12/11/2023 16:19

Definitely. Don’t even like going on holiday as I feel a bit homesick.

Yes, I am always at home, hate having to go out. I always wonder how my neighbours are so disorganised they have to go out every day for milk, papers etc. I can stay home for weeks if necessary.

newnamechangeforthisone · 12/11/2023 16:31

Definitely prefer to be home!

Luxell934 · 12/11/2023 16:33

Definitely a homebody. I spend a lot of money to live here 😂

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/11/2023 16:58

I'm definitely a homebody.. and I'm unable to work so only actually need to leave the house if I want to!
I'm very happy in my own company but do have my dog too
