....how would the country look now?

Does anyone actually believe we could have a Britain hating terrorist hugger running the country?

kitsuneghost · 12/11/2023 20:15

We would all be dead with the 'RonA.

HermioneWeasley · 12/11/2023 20:17

Careful @LakeTiticaca I got deleted for less

Unfortunately Corbyn just shows how easily people are manipulated by the media and scare tactics, as much as they’d argue otherwise.

Just look at what they have to lose if someone like Corbyn got into power, no wonder they attacked him so mercilessly.

Our children wouldn’t be in unsafe and under funded schools that’s for sure.

I completely agree.

underneaththeash · 12/11/2023 20:53

Given that he's an anti-semite and a communist - probably not good.

Superbroom · 12/11/2023 20:57

Energy companies wouldn’t be making huge profits, because they would have been renationalised, or at least partly on way to it.

@mnhq

can you explain why you deleted my post? Here’s a link to Corbyn using that phrase.

Hi there @HermioneWeasley . Yep, fair play. We can see he did use almost those words. We've undeleted your post now.

lionsleepstonight · 12/11/2023 23:11

Would he have had Abbott in the Cabinet?

Terrifying thought.

IvorTheEngineDriver · 13/11/2023 00:24

Pretty much as it does now, I suspect.

LlynTegid · 13/11/2023 08:29

I disagree about the prevarication over so-called lockdown. It would have happened sooner, albeit because of trade union pressure.

EileenBilton · 13/11/2023 11:47

No military aid to Ukraine. Because "peace".

AtTheEndOfMyToothbrush · 13/11/2023 12:38

Omg there would have been chaos. Thousand of people would have died during the pandemic because Corbyn would have been too busy partying with his real friends, Hamas. Brexit would have been made an absolute disaster as only the conservatives can be trusted to carry out the true will of the people. The economy would have been ruined with people plunging into a cost of living crisis. The NHS would just constantly playing catch up with their ever increasing waiting lists and the middle east would have been a war zone.

Thankfully we voted for literally anybody else but Corbyn....

@LaChienneDesFromages Davis Milliband-the best prime minister we never had. As they say.

Gently, yabu. We can't have a prime minister that can't even eat a hamburger elegantly (or one that smirks funnily for that matter...).

I'm glad to see though they've brought Cameron back at least. We haven't proven our committment to democracy with a random referendum for a few years now.

CurlewKate · 13/11/2023 12:51

@AtTheEndOfMyToothbrush Wasn't it Ed who was masticatorily challenged? David is too smart to fall for that one!

Yes absolutely. You are right. I saw the name Milliband and just assumed we were talking about ed. I was just going to make a post on how even David milliband would have been better for the country than Cameron.

Ed Milliband is the only party leader in recent history where I genuinely think the world might have been a better place if he'd won. :-(

lightinthebox · 13/11/2023 16:04

Poor Ed, that bacon sandwich will haunt him forever, he would have been great.

You can tell that Corbyn genuinely cared about a fairer society because even now he still gets involved in supporting strike workers and helping people in need.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/11/2023 16:09

He’d have dithered and sat on the fence re COVID/lockdowns.
IMO he never really wanted to be PM - he’d have had to put his money where his mouth is. So much easier being in opposition and just criticising everything.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 13/11/2023 16:32

There were English manufacturers offering to make PPE and trying to contact the government but they were too busy giving contacts to their millionaire mates. I can't see that would have happened under Corbyn. And we needed to lock down sooner and not open schools for one day. So I think less people would have died and less money would have been wasted. But you go on believing what the Daily Mail tells you, they certainly would have been worse off under Corbyn.
