Olive oil

We often hear that OO is generally beneficial to our health, in spite of its rather high calorific content. I understand it's our cardiovascular system that benefits the most. What about, for example, our digestive system and eyesight? Is OO good for those too or even detrimental?

Thankyou.

From the olive oil marketing department (although I have no doubt it is great stuff!)

Random, but I was told to only use OO in green bottles, not clear glass bottles. Apparently, OO can turn into a trans fat by sunlight and the green bottles prevent that from happening.

No source, but was told on an NHS weight loss course.

My current bottle of olive oil is in a clear plastic bottle but it lives in a cupboard so sunlight degradation isn't an issue. However, I must buy a new bottle so I can start making my own pizza dough again. The recipe doesn't specify basic OO or extra virgin.
