How to get from Belfast international after midnight?

Wondering if anyone can help please? Due to arrive at Belfast international around midnight and need to either stay at the airport or travel to the city.

Does anyone know the best way? Thank you

I'm pretty sure they have taxis in Northern Ireland.

Pieceofpurplesky · 12/11/2023 00:39

Check the bus timetable as I think they run quite late

Capricornandproud · 12/11/2023 00:41

Taxis - download the Fonacab app or ask someone at the airport, they should be helpful

mushroommummy · 12/11/2023 00:45

Taxi is probably the best option. No trains and buses aren’t reliable or handy unless you look at the airporter bus that might be worth a look.

Lavender14 · 12/11/2023 00:58

Taxi or the airporter bus. Taxis aren't too expensive but you'd be best booking in advance for that time of night. There is a taxi rank outside.

"I'm pretty sure they have taxis in Northern Ireland."

Never doubted it for a minute 😅 but as someone has said I might need to book?

Does anyone know the rough cost please?

There's a great Hilton in Templepatrick and a few airport hotels.

Guess it's weighing up whether a taxi or hotel is cheaper or whether flight delays might happen.

Depends on where you're going to in Belfast. Expecting friends/family to stay up late for your arrival may not work for them if they have work in the morning etc.

Belfast is great. Enjoy your stay!

belfastthinking · 12/11/2023 01:25

Thank you. An airport hotel would be the best probably as we have kids with us. Depends on the taxi cost of course vs a bus into the city the following day

@belfastthinking not sure about taxi prices but I think there’s a bus that runs through the night. Download the Translink app to search for the particular day/time you need it.

BiggletonUnited · 12/11/2023 01:30

300 bus runs through the night. Check times on

https://www.translink.co.uk/

If there is a group of you a taxi might be better value though. Probably around £40 maybe more because it's late.

HelloVeritas · 12/11/2023 01:39

Yes the 300 bus might still run or I think taxi around £40-50, certainly cheaper than a hotel. Where in City do you need to be?

belfastthinking · 12/11/2023 09:27

300 bus seems to be £15 per adult anyway unless I'm getting the fares mixed up

There’s a hotel at the airport, or fonacab or value cabs, also some Uber.

You can prebook a fonacab which is what I’d do at that time as taxis can be hard to come by at that time of night.

theduchessofspork · 12/11/2023 09:34

Taxi is about 30 - 35 quid in day time - might be a bit more at night, but if you ring fonacab they’ll tell you.

hopeishere · 12/11/2023 09:52

Taxi is about £30. I would pre book.

Would you not prefer to get where you need to be than staying in an airport hotel??

verrymerryberry · 12/11/2023 11:31

How long are you staying for?

Just one Night I'd stay at the airport - more than one night get an Uber to the hotel in the city centre?
