What happens re fsm at 6th form?

Dc is thinking about changing school at 6th form, what happens about meals if they do?

They credit a payment card up to a certain amount each day for using at canteen

FSM doesn't exist as such at sixth form. Our local schools / colleges have a bursary scheme for students who would qualify for fsm. Ask them if they have anything in place?

Even if your child stayed at the same establishment for sixth form you would need to re apply as year 12 and 13 are covered by Free meals in further education. The allowance is for the same amount as FSM.

Depending on the school/sixth form and your circumstances you would be able to apply for a bursary from them that is to cover certain expenses.

Sorry, to be more specific, free school meals exist but pupil premium funding doesn't. So most schools / colleges have bursary schemes to fund things that would have been covered in school by pupil premium money, such as school trips or equipment.
