Or a small mug full if you're more visual!

Left over from a recipe - not something I normally use!

Add it to bread dough

Does it make the bread nicer? Is it instead of some of the water?

You can whisk it into setting jelly (I usually use 1small tin to a pack of jelly) for a fruit fool of sorts-pineapple is best.

Cream of mushroom soup (or pumpkin soup, tomato soup, etc.)

Make a sponge pudding or fruit crumble today and use the evaporated milk instead of custard. Love a bit of evaporated milk!

YireosDodeAver · 12/11/2023 06:30

Use it to soak some high-bran-content breakfast cereal to a mush, and then mix up with eggs, fat, sugar and a bit of flour, a teaspoon of cinnamon and some raisins, and nake breakfast muffins.

Is it the right stuff for slow cooker chocolate fudge? I can't remember. I haven't made it for ages.

Into coffee instead of milk
Over tinned fruit
In any sauce that would use milk or cream
If you double it with water it's just normal milk
Home made ice cream
Jelly blancmange

Don't throw is away. It's very useful.

In coffee or over porridge.

I'm loving the universal disappointment on this thread as we realise it's evaporated milk

PuppyMcPupFace · 12/11/2023 08:18

Macaroni pudding, the only acceptable part of school dinners in the seventies !

Use it in coffee. Neck it as is.

Put it on tinned fruit. I am a child of the '70s... 🤣

Edited

Tinned fruit was my first thought too. I am a child of the 90s but my parents were stuck in the 70s 🤣

Thank you for all your suggestions on what to do with it - totally would have made the rum cocktail but am pregnant..

Also sorry for the universal disappointment of it actually being evaporated not condensed milk!!

In the end I put it in the milk frother with some cocoa powder and added a shot of coffee and gave it to my husband....his response was 'I'd categorise this as not quite tasting very nice' 😂

It was left over from a pumpkin pie - I was trying out condensed milk instead of fresh cream and I think I'll just go back to cream next time....

Pour it over tinned pears and enjoy 😊

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 12/11/2023 10:39

Use it in pancakes
