Ideally in England, but open to other suggestions - nothing requiring a passport though! I had some excellent suggestions about day trips earlier, so am hoping for some good suggestion about this too - Likes in the family - nature, sport, history, animals, landscape.... but open to suggestions about things to see and do, as well.

Thank you for any suggestions. I think we have camped all over the place over the years, and seen most of the special places and things that I know about

Sorry - re read your post and you said your interests

I like cheddar woods resort and spa this time of year, a nice lodge with hot tub for the cold evenings and exploring during the day

WilbursWinnie · 11/11/2023 19:12

Bath? Lots of culture. The spa is lovely, particularly the rooftop pool in the evening. Longleat zoo not too far away.

A B&B in Northumberland (possibly Hexham or Corbridge) and a walk or two along Hadrian's Wall, visits to Roman forts, or there might be events on at Kielder Observatory.

SittingOnTheChair · 11/11/2023 19:13

York or Edinburgh.

Sprig1 · 11/11/2023 19:14

Exmoor is fab.

This observatory looks facinating

Kielder observatory is fascinating if you’ve never been!

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 11/11/2023 19:27

Or, in fact, even if you have 😂

The Northumberland coastline is immensely underrated. As a foreigner living here, I don't understand why.

Roaminginthegloaming · 11/11/2023 19:46

OK, not in England and in the Snowdonia region of Wales…..but a unique, beautiful and really interesting place is the village and gardens of Portmerion.

You can find out all about it here:

Robin Hoods Bay (my favourite place) - and they have a Victorian weekend in December

beetlebrain · 11/11/2023 19:47

We recently spent a weekend in the Belle Tout lighthouse BnB, on the clifftop by Beachy Head. Lots of landscape!
